Entering results and scoring points
5 min read
You can enter results once the draw has been made — results need someone holding each competitor.
Automatic or by hand?
Linked football and tennis competitions update themselves. Scores come in and competitors are knocked out as matches finish. Anything done automatically is marked auto. You can still override any result.
Everything else is entered by you on the Results tab. That includes Strictly, Bake Off, racing, darts, golf and anything you set up yourself. It takes a minute after each show, round or race.
Knocking a competitor out
Next to each competitor, change Eliminated in from Still in to the round they went out in. You'll be asked to confirm, and told how many members hold that competitor — because pressing Mark out and send emails them, and email can't be unsent. Changing it back to Still in sends nothing.
Setting the winner
Press Mark winner on the champion. You'll be asked to confirm first, because this marks the competition finished and emails the winning member. Clear winner undoes it without sending anything.
Round-up emails
Send round summary emails every member the current standings. There's no confirmation step, so it's worth having a look at the Live tab first.
Points
Members score points for how far their competitors get. Press Points per round to see and change them. The defaults for knockout events double at each stage:
| Round | Default points |
|---|---|
| Group stage | 1 |
| Round of 32 | 2 |
| Round of 16 | 4 |
| Quarter-final | 8 |
| Semi-final | 16 |
| Final | 16 |
| Winner | 32 |
League and one-off formats start at 0 for everything except the winner. If you're running a league season or a race and want points for finishing places, set them in Points per round before the results start coming in.
A member's score is the points for the round each of their competitors went out in, plus the winner's points if they hold the champion. The leaderboard on the Live tab and public page updates as soon as you save.
