What cookies are
Cookies are small text files a website stores on your device. We also use similar technologies such as local storage, which works in much the same way. In this policy, "cookies" covers both.
How we use them
- Strictly necessary. These keep you signed in, keep the service secure and remember your cookie choices. The service can't work without them, so they're always on.
- Usage statistics. We use PostHog to count visits and see which pages and steps people use, so we can find where they get stuck and fix it. These are on unless you say no. The law allows this without asking first, as long as we tell you and make it easy to refuse.
- Optional, only if you agree:
- Link to my account. If you're signed in as an Organiser, we connect your usage statistics to your account so we can see how organisations use SweepSquad. We use your account number for this, never your name or email.
- Session recordings. We record how you move around the organiser dashboard, with everything on screen blanked out before it leaves your device.
We don't use advertising or marketing cookies, and we don't sell your data.
When you pay for a subscription, you do it on Stripe's own checkout pages. Stripe sets its own cookies there, under Stripe's cookie policy, not on our site.

Your choices
When you first visit, our banner lets you Accept all, Reject all or open Cookie settings to choose one by one.
If you don't choose, only strictly necessary cookies and usage statistics run. Reject all turns off everything that isn't strictly necessary, including usage statistics. If your browser sends a Global Privacy Control signal, we treat it as a no to usage statistics and to everything optional.
You can change your mind at any time with the Cookie settings link at the bottom of every page. You can also block or delete cookies in your browser, though signing in may then stop working.
When this policy changes
This policy is built from the tools we actually have switched on. Whenever we switch one on or off, we publish a new version with a new number and date, and we keep a copy of every version. If we add something that needs your agreement, we'll ask you again.
