How to run a darts, snooker or knockout sweepstake
4 min read
Darts, snooker, rugby, and any knockout we don't have live results for, work the same way: you set up the field, and you tell SweepSquad who goes out.
Setting it up
Go to New competition → Find by sport and choose the sport, or Something else if it isn't listed. Choose Straight knockout as the format.
On the competitors tab, add the field. Paste field is quickest if you have the list somewhere — one per line, with the seed first if you like (1, Luke Littler). Generate with AI can draft a field for well-known events, but check it against the official draw before you confirm.
Seeds are worth adding for a knockout. Official seedings or world rankings are ideal.
Draw before the first round
Anyone already knocked out is left out of the draw, so get it done before play starts.
Entering results
After each round, open Results, change Eliminated in for whoever went out, and press Mark out and send. Their holders get an email straight away. The rounds are the familiar ones — R64, R32, R16, QF, SF, Final — so pick the round each player lost in.
If your event has more rounds than that (the PDC World Darts Championship starts with 96 or 128 players), put anyone who goes out before the last 64 in R64.
Press Send round summary after a round if you'd like everyone to get the standings by email.
The final
Mark the runner-up out in Final, then press Mark winner. The competition finishes and the winning member is emailed.
